Teaching notes for dividing by 11
Below 99, both digits match: 44, 55, 66. Above that the pattern stops, so 132 ÷ 11 has to be recalled. That check tells a child whether a number belongs on this sheet at all, which is a different skill from recalling the quotient. For 11 × 12, the doubling rule breaks. Use 10 × 12 = 120 plus one more 12, giving 132. Teach the exception with the rule, or it will surprise them later.
