Teaching notes for dividing by 10
If it ends in 0, it divides by 10. Take the zero off and you have the answer. That check tells a child whether a number belongs on this sheet at all, which is a different skill from recalling the quotient. Money. 10 × 6 is six ten-pence coins, or six dimes. The place-value shift is easier to see with coins than with digits.
