9 Times Table Color by Number Worksheet

Every region on this picture carries one 9 times table fact. The digits of every answer add to 9. Look at 18, 27, 36, 45. The tens digit climbs while the ones digit falls. A child has to recall the answer before they know which crayon a region takes, so the coloring rewards the retrieval instead of replacing it. 9 × 7 = 63. Teaching notes for 9 times table

Hold up ten fingers and fold down the one you are multiplying by. Fingers to the left are tens, fingers to the right are ones. For 9 × 4, fold the fourth finger: 3 left, 6 right, so 36. Watch which regions your child leaves until last: they are almost always the facts that still need counting. The 10s. Every 9s fact is a 10s fact minus one group.
