Teaching notes for 11 times table

For 11 × 12, the doubling rule breaks. Use 10 × 12 = 120 plus one more 12, giving 132. Teach the exception with the rule, or it will surprise them later. Watch which regions your child leaves until last: they are almost always the facts that still need counting. The 10s, for the two facts where the double-digit trick runs out.
